Green Card Lottery Requirements
1. A qualifying country native
An applicant must be a natives of a qualifying country in order to be eligible to apply for an immigration visa to the U.S.A qualifying country refers to the country in which the applicant was born and this country must be included in the list of Eligible countries (see ahead). Please note that if an applicant was born in an ineligible (i.e. not qualified) country but his or her spouse was born in an eligible country, the applicant will be able to claim the spouse`s country of birth under the condition that both the applicant and spouse are issued visas and enter the U.S. simultaneously. In addition, in case the applicant resides in an ineligible country but neither of his or her parents was born there or resided there at the time the applicant was born- the applicant may be able to claim the nativity of one of the parents’ countries of origin.

2. Education and Training
An applicant must meet either the education OR training requirement; meaning, an applicant must have EITHER a completed high school education OR an equivalent to a high school diploma which is accepted in the United States, OR two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform. The U.S. Department of Labor`s O*Net OnLine database will be used to determine the occupations that require at least two years of training or experience to perform.
